Pre-Treatment Care
ELECTROLYSIS
Shaving is usually okay if it is done no later than 5-7 days prior to the scheduled appointment (in some cases, this time may be shortened). Tweezing or any other method of temporary hair removal would be longer, such as 2-3 weeks (some cases this time may also be shortened) and most of the temporary methods should be stopped once you begin electrolysis treatments. For optimal results before you use any type of temporary hair removal method you should always discuss it first with your Electrologist whenever possible.

On the day of your appointment...
- Do not wear any lotions, oils, makeup or deodorants on the area to be treated.
- Wash your hair if the hair line or nape of neck is to be treated.
- Always thoroughy and freshly bathe for any type of body work.
- For bikini line treatments, wear or bring a freshly laundered bikini or underwear.
- If using a topical anesthetic such as Emla cream or Topicaine gel to numb the area, be sure to apply it
instructions on the product label.

LIPO LASER BODY SCULPTING
- Drink plenty of water (at least 2 litres).
- Do not drink alcohol on the day of the treatment or within the first 48 hours after.
- Do not eat 2 hours before the treatment.
PERMANET MAKEUP
- No sunburn on your face (it will make it hard to read you true undertones)
- Limit caffeine drinks the day of prior to your procedure
- NO Alcohol starting 24 hrs prior to your procedure
- NO OTC medications (ibuprofen, aspirin) starting 48 hrs prior. Tylenol is fine.*Please do not stop any medications prescribed by your doctor without speaking to your physician first.
- NO antibiotics: must be off at least 2 weeks
- NO Accutane medication: must be off 6 months. *Please do not stop any medications prescribed by your doctor without speaking to your physician first.
- NO facials or waxing 7 days prior to your procedure.
- NO chemical peels or laser treatments in the past 60 days
- NO retinol/botox/fillers in the past 4 weeks (8 for lip fillers) and for 4 weeks following the procedure
- No lash extensions, lash growth products in the past 4 weeks (for eye-liner procedures only)
- No outbreaks, open wounds on the area that will be treated (lip procedures, brow procedures)
- If you are prone to cold sores please contact your physician about if you should take any medication to help prevent sores after any lip procedures.
COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY(CIT) OR MICRONEEDLING
- No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment.
- No auto-immune therapies or products 24 hours prior to your treatment. *Please do not stop any medications prescribed by your doctor without speaking to your physician first.
- No prolonged sun exposure to the face 24 hours prior to your treatment. A Microneedling treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin.
- On the day of the treatment, please keep your face clean and do not apply makeup.
- If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin or any other medication that you have the propensity to bleed easily while on, please tell your technician. If you are under a physician’s care and need to discontinue your medication for a few days, always ask your physician prior to each Microneedling appointment and be sure to bring a signed release from your physician.
- If you are planning to receive Botox, make sure that you give yourself at least 2 weeks post Botox injections before receiving your Microneedling procedure.
- If an active or extreme breakout occurs before treatment, please consult your practitioner.
TATTOO REMOVAL
- No recent sun exposure, tan, or use of self-tanners for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to treatment. The risk of hyper/hypo pigmentation (lightening or darkening of the skin) is greatly increased with sun exposure.
- Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin like harsh chemicals, depilatories, etc. for at least 1-2 weeks before treatment and 2 to 4 weeks after treatment. This includes products containing AHA/BHA, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc. Do not resume use of these products until skin has fully healed and all crusting has resolved.
- Treatment should be clean shaven for laser treatment (but not necessary for salibration/saline method).
